Memorial Weekend at the Hansen's Cabin

Views from the Cabin up in Kamas.

This is one of the views down on the trail that we went on the four wheelers, a little chilly but really beautiful!  We saw several deer and stopped to throw rocks in the river down the trail.
Just chilling, it was nice to have a weekend away where we didn't have to do anything but do what we wanted.  That included watching movies, shooting pool and arcades downstairs.  Playing games like racing horses (a betting game) and blokus and reading books, riding the four wheelers, playing in the hot tub with the kids and relaxing in the hot tub after they went to bed.  Eating...lots of eating filling the kitchen with bubbles, Dish soap was accidentally put in the dishwashers rather than actual dish detergent...Bubbles everywhere. and breaking a the glass on a light fixture...This was so weird...it literally just fell off.  Sorry Hansen's!
Liv and Bree had a great time together, they had to eat and drink and play what the other one was eating, drinking and playing...this caused a few problems, but for the most part, they really played well together, just like their mommies~
Cute Blake!  This kid is so chill, literally woke up, ate, played b-ball, napped for hours and repeated each step... Cass and Danny got a good one!
I made sugar cookies thinking that would be a fun thing for the kids to do, Bree and Liv had a fun time rolling out the cookies...
And eating the frosting...I mean frosting the cookies.
It was fun for us moms too!
 Pac Man!
Tyson had a great time sitting and rolling the ball up and down the game, that and watching whoever was playing the double shot.

Silly Girl! Cheering on the boys.!

While Lance was running somewhere with Danny, Liv Tyson and I took a walk, it was really pretty and Liv was so funny and wanted me to take her picture on every big rock she could climb on.   She is pretty cute sometimes, when I asked her to get something for me, she gave me a big thumbs up and said, "You got it Mom!"  So Cute!  I love this girl!

Cassie gave Ell, Bree and Liv haircuts while we were here. At first it was just the bangs and then we decide to cut it into a little bob, so cute!
We thought we would go out together while Tyson was napping, probably the most comfortable four wheeler ride I have ever been on!
Danny's dad, just like mine, are engineers so they both have similar machines that will shoot bottles by pressure.  They shot pretty high, Blake got scared and cried every time, poor boy.
Here Tyson goes on his first four wheel ride. He liked it!  He actually got so relaxed that he almost fell asleep.  Liv did the same thing when she was his age, they must be related.
Cute Buckway's family of 3 soon to be 4.  Ell is having a little boy in July!  Yay!
Seriously so cute! You 3 make such a good looking little family, there is no mistaking Blake for your boy!
We thought this picture would be fun to take, we took the exact same picture like this about 3 1/2 years ago when we were all up here last.  Fun to mark the times.  I love these girls!  So beautiful inside and out!
Tyson learned how to climb up the steps and he loved it, just kept coming back for more. I love that boy!!!!

Look at how are little families are growing!  Friends forever!
Thanks so much for having us Hansen's. We love you all, one of many trips and adventures together!

Happy Birthday Dad!

So my dad would be 63 today...we decided it would be fitting to go see him and take him a few balloons to celebrate. Liv was so sweet and gave him kisses.
Honey and Liv sent a balloon off to heaven. The first one got stuck in the tree right above him, we think he wanted to keep that one there. and the second one went straight up, I think we have our bases covered.
What a beautiful day to send our love to heaven.  We pulled up to the cemetery and Liv asked, "Are we here at heaven with Poppy?"  What a sweetheart.
This was a free coloring page at the checkout at Macey's where we picked up the balloons, we couldn't have planned it better! Liv colored it on the way to the cemetery.  She's getting better each time she colors.  I love seeing the progress and development in my kids, what joy!
It wasn't easy to be there and even harder to talk out loud to my dad wishing him a happy birthday.  It's still quite surreal.
Later we had a re-birthday party so celebrate my dads life, we had cake and told dreams or memories of him.  We also re-watched the video that us kids made for him for Christmas that we showed at the viewings.   Hard, but fun to hear stories or memories that I haven't heard before.
I had a dream a few nights previous that my siblings and I were at a fancy mansion event where we met lots of famous people look a likes, we got the go around the room and meet them, and over in a smaller group I see a man who looks exactly like my dad, I knew in my dream that it wasn't him, but it looked just like him.  I started talking to him and after a few minutes I said, "I know that you will probably think this is weird but I wondered if you would dance with me?"  He agreed and held me just as my dad would and it was as if I was dancing with him, which is one of those things that I am going to miss terribly.  I think sometimes dreams have a way of letting us know everything is okay, or giving us some type of comfort of confirmation that there are angels among us.
Instead of buying flowers at the funeral, the Rich family decided to buy our family these statues, one of my mom and dad biking and the other is of my dad crossing the finish line, just as he would in this life and symbolic of passing the test of this life and crossing the finish line onto the next life.  Very sweet! Thank you so much Rich family.

Just a brief update:

Tyson:
He is now almost ten months and finally taking a bottle. He has been sitting up since 6 months and crawling since 9 months.  He does not sleep well though, still up a few times at night and his naps these days are only about 30 min each and there are only 2 a day... BOO!  He is really getting into things now and loves to feed himself anything he can grab.  He loves Trix cereal and Popsicle's. He now has three teeth his 2 bottom ones which have been in for about 3 months and his uppers have been slowing teasing us as they seem to be so close to pooing out, but then don't.  As of about a week ago he has been waving and he definitely knows his Honey, mommy, daddy's and livy's voices. Tyson is really a pretty happy guy if he has a little sleep and food in him.  He has the cutest little giggle and the most gorgeous blue eyes just like his sister.

Liv:
What a cutie!  Even though she is defiant, says No a lot and can throw a pretty wicked tantrum, she is really fun right now, she is a talker, and she loves to sing.  She has her favorites: the ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle, but lately she has been making up her own songs and they are AWESOME.  Yesterday she sung one about Lightning McQueen and how he is the fastest race car.  She also has one that has a lot of La La's which is my current ring tone right now. She loves to read her own version of books and have them read to her. She does not like going to nursery, no idea why.
We just started a reward chart for her: Get dressed and hair done, eat with us a the dinner table, clean up toys at the end of the day and brush her teeth, I don't know why it is still such a surprise and battle everyday that we have to get dressed and do our hair, it's so annoying.  So hopefully this will help, we are only about 5 days in, so we will see.  She loves being pushed in the swing, I could push her all day, and she loved Strawberry shortcake right now. She also loved playing cash register and play dough. She loves spaghettios and any kind of berry. Her favorite color is pink and she notices everything when we drive in the car.  "Mom, I love white cars, but I don't like black cars, and I love blue cars and red cars and orange cars and yellow cars."  And Then I said,  "We have a black car, do you like black cars?"  and she paused and said, "Well of coarse I do."  This girl has some serious personality.

Lance:
Working at Progressive Insurance and a MRR.  Managed Repair Rep. and aside from the crazy customers that come daily, he really enjoys it. He is also the Elder's Quorum President in our ward so that keeps him busy too. Lance is such an amazing man!  He loves to be with his family and always makes time for us! He has been so dedicated to making our house, and all the that implies, not just in working condition, but looking and working really great.  He has spent the last two Saturday's doing yard maintenance and it is paying off, Thanks babe!

Marse:
Just being mom, and there is not JUST about it, it is a huge job and huge blessing. Loving it most days and could only love it more if Liv wasn't so defiant and Tyson would sleep more! Nothing else to report other than I miss my dad, I don't cry a lot when I cry, but I do it often and over the littlest things: Being at the gym where my dad worked out for years, eating at a sushi restaurant because he loved sushi and sashimi.  Seeing a biker, listening to a song, so many words and so many memories in different songs, watching any father daughter moment on t.v. or even just seeing a guy my dads age enjoying life like my dad should be.  I hate that I don't have my dad here!  I hate that he won't be around to watch my kids grow up and I hate that I can't call him and ask him questions or have his help or advice on something.  I love that I know I will see him again, I love that I have such great friends and family to help us through  I love that I know that he was choice.  This only could have happened to the best of the Lord's children.  My dad didn't have anything left to learn on this earth, and there are those who don't have things like diseases or death happen to them because they do have more to learn.  I have to remember these things as I sink into a sad moment.  Love you dad, wish I could tell you that!

Lances's Day Off

 The Discovery Gateway

Lance had the day off so we got some things done and had a little fun too!  First we went to the gym, which it has been a long long time, so yay.  After Tyson's short nap we went to price out how much it would be to replace our carpet...Way more than we thought it would be dang! Then after a few more errands we went to the gateway and had dinner and off the Children's Museum.   Between 5-8 and it was only $5.00, We all had fun!
Liv got to operate a crane.
Tyson learned to play the piano.

She also got to be a mail carrier, which she loved! She played for a long time in the kitchen area meeting new friends, cooking and eating dinner and picking flowers.
Tyson LOVED this little tiny slide, it was hilarious to watch because he slid down so slow, but you would have thought he was going on a roller-coaster by the smile and thrill on his face.
And mommy and daddy got to watch our kids play. It was great, we watched them have fun without having to entertain!  Yay.

The Quote of the month: January 2009

I really enjoy having something to think about each month so I thought I should continue putting a qoute up each month. Please feel free to add more if you have inspiration to share!

This is a great one to start the year off!
